What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between page loads — that you have visited before, where you arrived from, and so on. Similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels work the same way, and this policy covers those too.
What We Use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function and to protect it from abuse. These are set by Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider, and cannot be turned off without breaking the site.
Analytics
Microsoft Clarity sets cookies to distinguish visitors and record anonymised session behaviour — which parts of a page people read, where they stop scrolling, where they get stuck. We use this to fix layout and usability problems. Clarity masks text you type by default.
Attribution
ClickMagick sets a visitor identifier so we can tell which traffic source a visit came from, and affiliate networks set cookies when you click through to a retailer so any resulting purchase is credited correctly. These typically last between 24 hours and 90 days depending on the network.
What We Don't Use
We do not run display advertising on this site, and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or retarget you across the web.
Managing Cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you refuse all cookies, refuse third-party cookies only, or clear existing ones:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Block all cookies
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking analytics and attribution cookies will not stop you reading anything here. It only means we lose the data about how the page performed.
How the resulting data is handled is set out in our Privacy Policy.
