In short: we collect anonymous analytics to understand how the site is used, and we store your details if you email us. We do not sell your data.
Who We Are
Worth The Jar operates this website at worththejar.com. For any privacy question, or to exercise any right described below, contact us at hello@worththejar.com.
What We Collect
Information you give us
If you contact us through our form or by email, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message. We use it to reply to you and nothing else.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we collect limited technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and time spent. This is aggregated and used to understand how the site performs.
Analytics & Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each of which processes some visitor data under its own privacy policy:
- Microsoft Clarity — usage analytics and anonymised session recordings, used to find layout and usability problems. Clarity masks text input by default. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
- ClickMagick — click attribution, used to understand which sources send visitors to which pages.
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and security. Cloudflare processes request data to serve the site and mitigate attacks.
- Web3Forms — delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Affiliate networks — when you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer and its affiliate network set their own tracking so the referral can be credited. That processing is governed by their policies, not ours.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and affiliate attribution. Full detail, including how to refuse them, is in our Cookie Policy. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; the site will still work.
Legal Basis (UK/EU visitors)
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention, and understanding site performance; consent for non-essential analytics and marketing cookies, which you may withdraw at any time; and legitimate interests for responding to messages you send us.
How Long We Keep It
Analytics data is retained according to each provider's standard retention period. Contact correspondence is kept for up to two years, then deleted, unless there is an ongoing reason to retain it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on it
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office
California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA you may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected, request deletion, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood. To make a request, email hello@worththejar.com.
We will respond to any request within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
International Transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we limit access to any data we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the date below.
